Founded in 2003, Doucette Engineering & Septic Design is my sole-proprietor engineering corporation. At the time, the company was formed, it was more of a side business while employed at other firms. Then in 2014, I decided to stay at home with my daughters, every so often I would get a call for engineering work. Call volume increased as the family commitment decreased due to the middle school and high school programs that my girls were in. Then COVID hit, and the demand grew; my theory is that the demand with remote work and children coming home from college that systems on the brink of failure were stressed beyond their capacity. Exiting that period of time, I had many more contacts, contractors, and resources due to the services and quality I provided. The volume continued to grow.
Now at this point in my life, it is difficult to believe that the veteran who struggled through college holding down three jobs, has 28 years of engineering experience and has been referred to as a septic expert. I strive to maintain my reputation and set the professional standard that I learned from my first job, and use my knowledge to help families through the unfamiliar territory that is septic system design and installation.

Doucette Engineering & Septic Design consists of Ted Doucette, licensed engineer, utilizing subcontractors to provide full-service septic design and engineering. Generally my service area is Middlesex County, but I have taken work at locations when I find the projects interesting or honestly, find someone who needs a hand. I will talk to anyone for 20 minutes if you call with a septic or engineering need. My experience in site development, permitting, and zoning gives me a well-rounded view of most projects. During my time working as the engineer at a large state-wide septic company, and at other engineering firms has allowed me to work in probably 40 cities and towns, and have about 350 septic systems.
